The wheels fit more "flush" on Nizzan4u2nv's car since his car is lower and he's runnin more camber than I am.

^ Those front tires look like far less than %50 tread.
These wheels look very nice, but they sell brand new for $1720, and considering these have had 5-6 owners, $2100 seems a little steep for cast 17s. (Mabey for Meisters). Just FYI, i recently purchased a brand new set of 18x9 18x10.5 SP1s for $1800 shipped with centercaps. |

$420 for the 17x9 and $440 for the 17x10 = $1720 for the set These wheel have always been this price and im sure they will continue to be. SSR was bought by Tanabe Japan, so the wheel has been re-released. Gruppe-S has already done an initial buy through them for my350z.com. |

If I recall, the original owner got these from team orange which means that they got them in japan and are true semi solid forged SSR SP1's rather than the US sold SP1 which are cast. The seller just needs to find out this info. If it's forged and they are in perfect condition, that price isn't tooooo bad but if it's cast, that price is horrible.

****EDIT**** Flybert, I misread your post. As a matter of fact, yes, these SP1s and all SP1s are "semi-solid forged". "Semi-solid forged is just a fancy way of casting, but probably the best casting. Nontheless, all SP1s are and have been SSF. Semi-solid forged = Cast Forged = Forged http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/ssr/ssr_info.jsp Last edited by SPX-13; 07-14-2006 at 03:44 PM.. |

Gruppe-s sizing is not consistent with the sizing on rd-tanabe. Gruppe has 17x10 -1 only has a 59mm lip whereas these are 123mm. Gruppe 17x9 +6 has the same 72mm lip though. These wheels were custom made for msports japan(custom gold, which costs more). The first 4 onwer's never even used these wheels. The 3rd owner only mounted the tires, and sold them to the owner before me which didnt even have a car to put them on.

Custom color is stated to be $20+ per wheel
And Gruppe-s looks just to have copied the heading on the 2nd row wrong. My price stands, and I can pick up on Saturday if you are still interested in selling them. |

My intentions are not to ruin this thread, but only clear up some inccorect information.
First off, Gruppe-s' offset table is off, thats it. Call them and check. If you compare the gruppe-s table with the SSR Japan one you can see that the person at Gruppe-s who copied and pasted it just screwed up, the repeated the top row on the bottom, so all the lip sizes are off. Bottom line is that any 17x10 -1 SP1 will have a 123mm lip, there is nothing "custom" about these wheels as far as size and offset go. The color is the only thing different than what SSR normally offers, but how much can you really add on top of MSRP for color? Yes these wheels look great and in very good condition, but they are USED, there is now way around that. Im done as long as there is no more false info posted. |

I dont see anyone posting false info. Read my post. Did I say they were custom size? no. Is gruppe s information wrong? Yes. You say ssr never made forged ssr, but in the second paragraph you write semi solid forged. Forged is forged whether or not their techniques is close to casting. If you dont wanna pay that price, you dont have to, simple as that.

I wasnt saying that you had posted up any false info, just the fact that you guys are making these wheels out to be some "special" SP1s, when they are the same as any other that anyone can order through a shop for less than you are asking. Ok, pay the extra $ for a different color, but it still doesnt touch the price that is being asked. And then the fact the seller claims the tires have 50% tread, but im sorry, a tire with inner or outer camber wear beyond the tread patch qualifies for having 0% tread left.
And about your comment on forging vs. semi solid forging, mabey we should just make another thread instead of ruining this one, but Semi-Solid Forged != Forged TE37s and Meisters are forged, these are not. They can legally call it semi-solid forging, but the reason why they can sell it for prices that match cast wheels, is because it is a form of casting. They melt the metal, they dont form it. Anyways, if it was a true forge or even close then i think everyone would be rolling on SSRs and Work would definatly be out of business. Let the man sell his wheels, but mabey he should rethink his asking price. |
