I am close to buying a 93 240sx fastback and i was wondering if there was any thign i should look for that would caust alot to repare of if there are any known thigns that could go worng with the car, im on a small budget and i need a car.

If it has a rear wing...90% chance you'll have rust under it.  Check little things like maintenance records, check the oil, pop your head under the car to take a look at the rear diff to make sure it isnt leaking all over the place.  Mine has somwhat of a slow leak, and I'll eventually crawl under there to replace it with a VLSD (if the car aint totaled).

Check the body panels to make sure they have a VIN sticker on them.  If not, they've probably been replaced.  Look in the spare tire well for unusual or poor welds that might indicate a rear end accident.  Check for oil on the engine and rust under the car.

check to see if there's any paint overspray on fenderwalls. Also check the windows and such to see if it's nissan or replacement. Check to see if there's a heat shield on the hood, if not the hood's been replaced. hope this helps and good luck!
