you remove the 12-15 10mm bolts on the bottom of the car, so u can drop the oil pan, and get a hose, start hosing streight @ the crank shaft.... but, i think that'll b bad for the engine, unless u can get all the water out or somthing... the alternative:
i know there's something u can add to the engine prior to the oil change, u add it in, leave engien on for 15 minutes or so. it pours out like water in a lil bottle... so i ponder, if it's just water... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dozingoff.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]()

You can use some Simple Green concentrated degreaser/cleaner and water when you take off the oil pan.
Spray some simple green on, let it cut through the grease, and use towels or something to scrub some of the grease off the crankshaft and walls. Then hose everything down with water...rinse it very very well. Once your done hosing, spray the crap outta everything with WD-40 and let the remaining water dry off for an hour. Then spray with WD-40 again and put everything back on and add oil. That's what I did for a motor. I noticed that the oil pan and the head had the most gunk stuck on it. |

ATF trick!
buy any kind of Automatic Transmission Fluid, take out your spark plugs, disconnect the fuse for your fuel injection. To be conservative put 1-2 teaspoons of ATF inside each cylinder. Put your spark plugs back on and reconnect. Manually crank engine a few times to let ATF coat everything. Let car sit for 24+ hours. Start car super early in the morning, and let it run and burn off all the ATF. Be forewarned, ATF burns thick white smoke and you will probably choke up your entire street with it. ATF is combustible so dont worry, it's completely safe to do as long as you dont use too much (if you put too much it will dissolve the oil and your engine may sieze) ATF is great for dissolving carbon deposits and other crap inside an engine...the longer you let it sit, the more it dissolves... if you want to test it, get an old spark plug and let it soak in ATF... you'll notice all the carbon will burn off of it in time. Make sure to use old plugs when doing this as ATF will foul up your plugs really quick. That's the quick and dirty method...another way would be to premix some Marvel Mystery Oil in your gas tank every fill up...it'll eventually clean out your engine and is good for it. People swear by this stuff... im sure someone can vouch for the ATF trick here. basic preventative maintenance

It would be another rotary guy to bring up the ATF trick. Yea and it does smoke like a M/F. I did the 2L of water trick on my FD but never got around to the ATF one.
But bunch of people do swear by it on the Rx7 forums.

one word: SEAFOAM!!!
My car lives on this stuff every oil change. 1/3 pint in the gas tank, 1/3 pint in the crankcase, and 1/3 a pint through the throttle body. Cures hard idles, cleans carbon buildup, filters, and provides a great smoke show. I would highly recommend looking into this. The other alternative I've heard of is using Dextron, but I'm still not sure about the safety of it.
