Okay, well i was driving home the other day and noticed that my car is a LOT louder than normal . It sounds like the fan is a lot louder and much deeper. That's between 2 and 3k rpm that my fan sounds really loud. Then all of a sudden after 3k rpm it starts to let out a real loud squeal . I've opened up the hood but i dont see anything visually that can be scraping. Any ideas on what to do ? The squael is driving me nuts. I can even hear it through my music

Im not sure about ur fan troubles, but i have a belt squeal that always happens at about 4k+, if u have what i have, u can use belt dressing as a temporary solution, but u would need to either have the belts tightened, or check them for possible replacement, i think someone told me that they found the alternator belt was the cause for their squeal.
hope that helps

(FYI)

Sometimes if one of the pulleys is slightly crooked...it will chirp or squeal. This happend to my sisters car before after she got into a wreck, one of the brackets holding the alternator was bent...and the lip of the belt rubbed the belt wheels (pulley wheels..or whatever they are called). The cheapest way to get it fixed is to goto Autozone or something...and ask one of the clerks to come look at it...and they might be able to tighten something for you (if need be).

new belt, or tighten it up...not too expensive part wise...my rx7 did that too except only in first gear.

actually you wouldnt need to tighten up your belt. if its squeling its toooo tight. dressing or some silicone would be temporary. if you suspect its not the belts trry using a long screwdriver as a hearing aid and put it on the pulleys to identify if it is one of the pulleys or tensioners
