Advice on 30mm z32 calipers+s13 SE wheels
So I searched around and it sounds like only the 26mm calipers clear the stock s13 SE wheels. Its the single rib wheel and the guy I got them off of was running 26mm calipers, so I know atleast that much will fit. Right now, I've got parts set up for a 30mm setup, because I've always heard people say that the SE wheels will fit a z32 brake conversion.
So now, I'm thinking about running a spacer in the front. Was wondering if anyone out there is running the same setup of 30mm calipers with the SE wheels and a spacer. I'm guessing I need a 5mm spacer (30-26=4) to clear but I'd like to hear from anyone who's actually done it. Also, the type of spacer you've used and how reliable they were would be awesome too. Or, if you've fit the 30mms without a spacer, I'd like to hear from you =) |

i wouldn't mind grinding the nissan lettering if it'll make it fit without a spacer. do you know if 30mms will fit after you grind it down a bit? do you have any recommendations on which spacers i should go for and how big? I'm assuming 5mm.

I dont know what size spacer you will need, but just get the wheels and brakes and make it work. It should fit with just grinding down the lettering, if not maybe only a 3mm spacer or something.

what's wrong with 26mm calipers? they obviously work, and there isn't much (if any gain) with the 30mm calipers.
quit second guessing yourself and just do it, this isn't hard. |

dude, if you grind your calipers, instead of getting a small spacer, your retarded.
If yuo go too deep, youw ill go thorugh to fluid and ruin your calipers. there is always that chance for an accident to happen

Brembo stopped carrying the 26mm rotors for Z32, so you can't just go out and buy quality replacement rotors in that sense. |

nothing wrong with 26mm... except for the fact that i already bought 30mm calipers and rotors. just trying to make it work with the stock SE wheels. all i really wanted was to hear from someone who's actually done it and what type/size spacer they are running. i'm already assuming that i'll need atleast a 4mm spacer because of the size difference, but i don't think they come in 4's, so 5mm will probably be it, but i still wanted to hear what my options were or if anyone had any advice on it.
besides, cdlong, if i had known about this problem, i would'va bought 26mm calipers and rotors instead |

my advice would be to take the wheels off measure the space that you have from stock caliper, from the rotor face to the furthest point on the lettering. This will give you a rough estimate on how much room you have to work with on the stock configuration. Now take the new 30mm's and do a mock installation with pads(off the car) measure the distance from the rotor face the the furthest point on the calliper(guessing the lettering). Take the difference and thats how much room you will need. if ur diff is negative use that much space if its pos. then your fine...
hope that helps

Russ I was talking about the Brembo OEM replacement aka Brembo Blanks for the 26mm calipers.
I called Brembo USA and that is what their technical support guy and the lady in sales told me. What you guys are still buying now are probably the left over stock, so once they're gone, they're gone. If my information isn't correct then I stand corrected. |
