Weird Issue.

Alright I used hte all mighty search function and foind nothing.

I was waiting in trafic (one of those lights that tend ot take like 5 minutes to change) and all of a sudden my car starts smoking heavy (white) and then the light turns green, i get ont he gas and the car runs, well fine. (noticed a power loss but not dramatic) then ok I'm driving and hey the car runs fine but dosent pull as hard as it should. so I get to my friends house and change the Intake manifold Gaskets and Injector O-Rings. (yeah I keep some in stock just in case) and so I turn the car back on and well it idles smoother. but after 2 - 3 minutes it starts smoking again..... so I drive it home and on the way where getting these crazy ass backfire (sounds like gunshots) and flames on the way. the whole time it was friggin loud. and so I park the car and let it sit over night. ...

This morning, the start up was really really rough (it didn;t wanna start I had to give it some gas for it to fire up), and then it idled. fine. same problem after 2-3 minutes it started smoking. so It ake it on a drive and same stops smoking let it idle for 2-3 minutes and bam the smoke is back. so I start to unplug one injector at a time. and when I get to injector numebr 2. i unplug it and the car stops smoking. I changed the injector (I have 2 extra sets of 370's) and fire the car up. .... same thing starts smoking, unplug injector number 2 and no more smoke. so I change it again. and repeat. then change again and repeat.... the only thing I have in mind is my ECU might have gone bad. I would run ECU diagnostics but my ECU dosent have the screw for it (Code 63) ....

Help me please!

well usually white smoke means there is water or antifreeze mixing with the oil, have you tried checking that?

Just cuz its not mixed doesnt mean coolants not getting into the cylinder. Keep an eye at your coolant level and do a compression check. Im willing to bet the HG is blown...

well I recently just rebuiilt the motor as stated in the FS thread. and I installed a COmetic Multy layer metal head gasket. so if it did then uhhh cometic must really suck then. I was thinking maby either my turbo went bad or my ECU might have gone bad. (I dun got it anchored anywhere so its free to move and juggle arround teh car as it pleases.)

did you check the oil line to the turbo. my friends car was doing the same thing at the track on fri and the return line was pinched, fixed that and it stoped. he ran the car down the track no problems till he blew the ic pipe off. (i guess thats what happens with 40psi boost haha).

Did you get the head resurfaced and make sure the block was perfect, cosmetic headgaskets need the absolute correct surface to seal. The reson why when you unplug #2 injector it stops smoking that is cause there is not longer any fuel fire the cylinder so the coolant is not being burnt anymore.

That is what I figure at least...

yep head and blcok where resurfaced, machines and inspected, wouldn;t it smoke all the time if it was the HG? cause when I drive it drives fine. it dosent smoke when Im driving it. never overheated the motor, over boosted or raped the motor.

Yeah reading around a bit appearantly white smoke can possibly be running too rich??? Maybe it is a wiring problem in the harness for that injector? That is pretty wierd though, your right a blown HG should smoke all the time.

Alright performed a compression test just now. and these are the readings. 150-145-145-150 Pulled my spark plugs. (I replaced them 2 weeks ago along with my oil change. [Cold weather means Heat range 7 plugs with 10W-30 full synthetic oil] and they are fouled)

So perhaps my MAF took a shit on me. now to test the MAf. ehhh.. my pc crashed and I dun got adobe acrobat. what should the MAF voltage be at idle?
