greddy brether tank question

ok so i bought the breather tank and got it all hooked up, what do ya know my car is overheating bigtime now...i figured it was just air in the system from installing the radiator adapter...but its still doing it, and what weird is even with the temps into the 200's the heater air is cold...does this mean theres air in the ehater hoses or my heater core i going out or what?

also here is a pic of the cap

now for the last question...obviously this isnt the same as a radiator cap, i thought the when the tank reached a certain pressure (ie 13lbs) that the cap would open, thus allowing the flud to over flow into the overflow tank...but with this cap it doesnt even have the spring or anything to go down past the nipple that goes to the overflow tank...so basically coolant is always flowing in the tank thus causing it to overfill and make the radiator lose its pressure since its basically always open right? i was gona go buy a real radiator cap and put it on but i wanted to check and see if maybe there is an explanation for this...

thanks

My friend says THAT one goes over the radiator, and the stock one goes over the tank.

The Instructions should tell you to put that cap on the Radiator and the Pressure cap on the overflow tank.

Then run the overflow line from the radiator to the top of the overflow tank. You should have also gotten a temp adapter and then installed it in the lower hose attached to the bottom of the tank as a drain.

Looking at your pic it's hard to see if you have the lines run correctly. The drain back is a little high. Can you post more pics of your set up?

yea i have the adapter in the lower radiator hose, but the directions were in japanese so i just hooked it all up according to diagram, i was unaware that i was supposed to switch the cap.

i got the heating problem fixed, there was apparently a lot of air in my heater lines so the heat works now and it doesnt overheat.

so i just need to put the greddy cap on my radiator and my radiator cap on the breather tank right?

thanks for the info

you put the one in the picture on your radiator and then you put a regular radiator cap with a spring on the surge tank

the point of that is so that your radiator overflow thing is always open so that air can get out of the radiator and go to the surge tank
