Finally got some dyno numbers

We almost had the car tuned til I got owned by the cometic HG. We got it fully tuned on 13psi and it made around 355rwhp and then we turned it up to 18psi and did a pull before we started tuning it and it made 414rwhp. We were tuning it and when the tuner got into the throttle it started spraying coolant out of the radiator(there was no resevoir on the car so the nipple under the radiator cap was open). So we checked the pressure in the radiator and at idle it was 16psi and as soon as you gave it gas it jumped up to 22psi. So we checked for water in the oil and oil in the water. Everything was clean. So we checked the coolant for any exhaust gases and sure enough had exhaust gases in the coolant. So the HG didnt give out but apparently it has a weak design in sealing around the cylinder so its allowing exhaust gases to pass by and get into the water jackets. Im going to put an Apexi HG on there and get the tuning finished and see how much it makes. Im hoping to hit 430rwhp on 19psi. Seems attainable with it making 414rwhp on 18psi not fully tuned. Heres a quick mod list

GReddy intake manifold

Whats the condition of the engine? Is it a freshly rebuilt engine? Any chance you got the dyno print out even tho it wasnt complete? I wanna see how laggy this setup is.

I dont have the chart ill post it around the 5th of Jan. That is when Ill be picking the car up. Ill see if they'll email me the chart of the 414 pull. The powerband is awesome. It is really responsive, the tuner was really suprised at the response. The torque curve is nice as well it shoots up pretty quick and from 4000-7500 rpms the torque is pretty much a horizontal line. Again Ill try to get the 414 chart if i cant get it ill post the final dyno charts around the 5th of Jan.

Well come to the Cometic head gasket party. Steve ran his car around for a few weeks, pressurizing the coolant system with the commetic. It does a VERY bad job of sealing, but wont "blow" like a traditional gasket, just lift, pressurize system, and seal back up, it will even kick out pretty comp test numbers for you.

Our best guess was it was the cometic gasket, or the head studs/bolts. What setup are you running to keep the head glued to the block? What prelimnary install steps did you take? Copper Spray? Presealed cometic? Deck'd head? Deck'd Block?

Some more numbers. The car is finally tuned. 366whp@13psi and 435whp@19psi. The car has more in it I think because he stopped the pull around 6800rpms because the alternator was messing up and we never did another power pull.
