which do you prefer?

stats look the same to me. whats the difference anyway?

Only difference is that the blacktop is later S13 motor... so it may have lower miles. Besides that it may have fins on the front cover.

blacktop has better airflow in the head and better oil circulation

The Blacktop has better internals in general, but more importantly the redtop is a 12-15yr old motor thats prolly had the shit beat out of it, and been sitting broken upside down in a junkyard for 10 years.

Gross, I thought by now Vb forums would have installed some type of filtering mechanism for these kind of posts during the time I was gone. O well I'll just be happy that there is a spell checker at least.

BTW Mcrusselpants, can you please show me where you got this information about the blacktop, and also just because it is newer does not at all mean that it is going to last longer or is less beat up, the only way to find this out is to perform a bit of due diligence while selecting a motor (IE. look at their reputation, check compression, etc)
