115mph in 4th gear at 5500rpm... and that's all she wrote! (pls don't flame me for doing what i did. i was alone on the US-101 south with like 5 empty lanes at about 2am, and i was curious at what the capabilities of the S13 are.)

the ECU, or ECM for the anally retentive, cuts off at that point and does not permit u to go any further, WHICH IS A GOOD THING!!!

Speed limiter is set at 120mph on the s14's...haven't tested it yet, but will maybe w/a long enough stretch of highway and no traffic.

I had my old AUTO KA24E s13 up to 125mph. The Automatics don't have the annoying speed limiter that the 5-speeds do.

Actually, I've heard that the automatics had it set at 140 mph instead of the 5spd's 115-118-120 (depends who you ask...)
Can anyone confirm this?

How's the stability of the s14's at around 120-130? I hear the SE's handle better at those high speeds.

haha you think 115s bad?? Its not too bad till you have it at 140 for about 10 mins. It feels like the doors wanna rip out from the side of the car, air leaking from every little crack, the sound of the engine becomes pretty deafening but you dont really focus on those things. *sigh* I miss my S13. So far ive only hit 115 in the FC (only reason I slowed down was alignment and tires) but I plan on breaking my 240s top speed.

Ok so I have an s13 and what I do not understand is that stock speedometer goes only up to 115... and I have a auto (SOON TO BE 5-speed ) anyways I got it up to 125 or so I think... and that is where it max-ed out... there was a limiter so yeah that is my two cents. I did this for about 10 mins also… ??

YES! It can be done. I did it. Go buy an A'PEXi DIGITAL REV/SPEED METER. I have one on my car. Just solder like 5 wires into your ECU. It reads 4 of them, and interrupts the speed signal, than resends it. I don't know the complications of it all, but the manual says you can set it to whatever you want. I set mine to 20, and it didn't work. I have had my 5 speed S13 up to 115 though. My regular speedo is messed up, so i was reading this off my digital one, which corrects formy 235's on my 17's. So it was more like 100 to the stock ECU. Hmm I guess I did not prove whether it was removed or not. Well anyway, It will test your 0-60, and it will tell you your real speed. My best 60 time is 7.36. You can read my mods, they aren't impresive, and my engine has 190k on it.

*for the ones who want the numbers... 115mph /(205/235){stock/new size}=100

thanks guys/gals

I have heard mixed things about the Rev/Speed meter and its ability to eliminate the speed cut. I would imagine Apex will have a newer version with all the bugs worked out before too long. There is a speed cut eliminator that apparently does work (from what i've heard) i just can't remember who make its, i think it was either GReddy or HKS.

hmm... i could get my KA24E up to 117 before the limiter would cut my fun short, but w/ the sr there doesnt seem to be a limiter, ive had the needle tapping the bottom of the gauge cluster with no limiter, and now just so i can tell how fast im actually going, and to eliminate any potential higher limiter i bought an R-Spec rev/speed meter, not as fancy as the apex ones, but i only paid $120 for it brand new so i cant complain
