I'm in the middle of my electric fan install, but I need a little help. I've decided to use the stock electric fan already in my car, but I don't know exactly how to wire it. I bought an adjustable thermostat and i've decided i want to use that with the electric fan. I know there is a write-up on 240sx.org, but that's for a s14. So....anybody know how to wire up my adjustable thermostat to my ac fan ? I know the red wire on my thermostat goes to the battery, the black goes to a ground, but there is a yellow wire I don't know where to plug in. Anybody know how to do this? Thanks in advance..

its basically a switch that uses heat to turn on and off. when the thermostat hits a certain temperature, the switch will turn the fan on. an adjustable thermostat makes it so you can choose the temperature in which it will turn on. it's basically wiring up a switch to the stock electric fan.

i know what a thermostat is and know how it works. but i never heard of wires coming out of it. the fan switch is usually hooked up to the temp sensor, so when it reaches a certain temp the elec fan turns on. i was asking about this too, if i can buy a lower temp fan switch/sensor but no one knew what i was talking about. do you have a pic of the unit??

I'm not sure how this adjustable thermostat looks like. Does this unit read temperature, does tell what degree it is like an ordinary thermostat? If it does, the yellow, costant power goes to the battery, black, ground goes to negative, and red, power goes to the positive wire from the fan. I'm pretty sure this is right.
Where and how much did you get the adjustable thermostat? Because I was looking for one when I did the "electric fan" for my car. |

I got the adjustable temperature relay from summit racing. It's the one made by Derale. I don't know what wire am I supposed to splice into...the directions it came with says the red goes to my battery. Orange goes to fan positive lead. Blue goes to dual fans if i have them (which i don't). Yellow you attach to an ignition switched 12-volt source. Green attaches to positive wire on air conditioning clutch. Black is the ground. I'm having trouble figuring out where to plug the Yellow and Green wires. Anybody know a location that will be good for this ? thanks.
