bring your battery to autozone and ask them to slow charge your battery

That should solve the problem. If not your battery is gone.

Your battery is either old or your alternator is shot.
You can take your battery and alternator to autozone/pepboys to get it tested.
Not sure on the battery light.

The battery light is a low voltage light. Yeah, it should have come on if you're below 12.5V I believe. If you jumped the car and it didn't charge the battery, it's probably your alternator (you'll find out if you battery checks out at Autozone). If the batt is OK, put a voltmeter on the batt terminals while the car's running - should be getting 13.5V or so. If not, your alt is bad. If you are, then you've got some serious power draw (fuel pump most likely) and should PM me cause I'm tired of typing what-ifs lol.

the battery is new, just recently bought one. so i'm guessing it's the alternator. i'll have it checked out tomorrow. thanks for the input guys. also i changed out the fuel pump about a month ago. so maybe power draw.

It shouldn't matter unless it is grounded out and kept running while the car was shut off. It's most probally a bad alternator. There is a write up on using a quest alternator.

That's what happens sometimes. Relays are activated by a switched ground, not a switched +12V, so sometimes they get grounded and keep the pump/fans/ac comp/lights/whatever on, and with a stock fuel pump, you can't hear it. Anyhow, if it's your alt, you've got a lot of options (stock KA, rebuilt/Autozone, rebuilt/Alt shop, Quest, etc).
