Just checking to see if anybody has any tips before I bust apart my door to figger out what's going on. The window up and stopped working yesterday, and is now stuck down. WHen I hit the switch, the motor sounds like it's spinning, the window will give a bit of a jolt- but the motor will keep spinning and the window is stuck.
Anybody dealt with this before? I'll be pulling things apart this evening to see if I can find the problem.

Maybe it just jumped the track or a bolt came loose if your lucky.
Otherwise, it may be the gearhead on the end of the motor in which case it'll have to be replaced. Any grinding sounds at all? I'd be the big gear that meshes with the gearhead on the motor came loose or something like that. Just open it up and have a peek. |

Gearhead is OK, bolts are in place. I can hear the whirring but am having difficulty localizing it. I belive I've found the motor but it's not very accessible. I think if I remove four bolks, the entire mechanism will come out. My FSM just came in, so I can use that for reference. Anyhow, the window just became the absolute least of my worries. . .
