SR question (newbie style)
I feel like a moron for having to ask this, and because i have never looked into it, or cared about it until now. but ...
What is this hose for? What does it go to? What does it do? Is it necessary? ![]() I only ask, because i am fabricating my own IC pipes in the next few weeks, and i am wondering if i have to accomodate something like that into my new pipes...

well, two things really.
one, im not trying to be rude but you should do yourself a favor and get ahold of a factory service manual, then you can look all this stuff up in half the time. two, that hose goes to the valve assembly that controls your idle. its pretty important. iacv. good luck with the fab work.

Im sure someone would say that. But i am not the one fabricating the piping personally, my friend is doing the welding actually. But i just never looked into what it was, but thanks for the answer. Now i just need to find a place to buy a section of 1" diameter aluminum piping...

That hose goes to the idle control valve. You need to retain that connection with your fabricated piece. Just drill a hole in the intake pipe right before the t-body which is the same diameter as the hose coming off from the ICV. Then take the same I.D. (inner diameter) pipe and cut an angle at one end then weld it to the intake pipe. Nice clean sealed welds now, no chicken shit! Dont want a small hidden leak.
