sr20 idle issue

ive got a redtop sr20 in an s14, just today it started idling all fucked up

on startup it will idle at 1500, and stay there if i dont touch anything, as soon as i give it a bit of gas it will begin to idle at 2000 and drop to about 1600 then back to 2000 and drop to 1600 repeat etc..

anyone know what might cause this?

i had the ecu unplugged could this be the result?

SR

dude your car wouldnt run if you had your ecu unplugged... and was your car warmed up cus that will affect how it runs. when i start my car it will idle high for a couple minutes but once i start driving it will drop down, the change in RPM @ idle is strange could be TPS or a vacuum line... check vacuum lines and sensors

its a learning ecu so its possible, it is however most likley the tps, mine has a strange idle at the moment as well.

Try unplugging the ECU over night , reconnect and take it for thrash (honnest)

ok when you unplugged your ecu and plugged it back in was your battery attached? i'm telling you your problem is probably a vaccuum line thats busted somewhere that'll make the motor rev at idle
