This is true to. However a little slack in your timing chain could also cause this rattle noise.  However, if it s ratting while its running, its more than likely your chain will need replacing too as well.  If you want to be safe, or you can take the chance of needing a new drivetrain ... i mean, heave, 300 bucks worth of parts/labor vs. 2000 dollars worth of parts/labor.
