Heres a write up.
1. Locate phone book. If you don't have a phonebook proceed to step 2, if you do go on to step 3.
2. www.yellow.com
3. Look up a local Painless Dent shop
4. Pick up the phone
5. Look at number and punch in number
6. make sure its the right number
7. call

Phew...

Damn, is there any question you can ask on this forum without getting a smart-ass answer? It's not like the guy asked a dumb question, paint shops can charge pretty much whatever they want to unknowing customers. It wouldn't hurt to get an opinion from someone who's had dents fixed before.

If they're just dings, why don't you practice with some bondo and just fill every thing you got on the car on one free day? It's free labor PLUS you have no one to blame for mistakes except for yourself. But then even if you did make a mistake, that's what sanding and paint's for. Just something I'd do/learn if I was in your situation.

yeah i agree with jumpman, i know how to call and ask for a price quote but most shops overcharge. well looks like i should be expecting a pricey repair cause i really dont know how to do all that bondo, paint, sanding stuff.

^^ it's as easy as putting putty in a hole and smoothing out the top/surface.

any limit on how many dents per panel? what if it's only one dent in the panel, and what if it's hail damage on the roof? same price?

there was this "group buy" for paintless dent removal a while back that was on some g35/350z forum.. the price ended up being 20 bux a dent. The guy took out 4 nasty door dings i got on my rear qtr panel, cant even tell i had a dent there!

I forgot the company name, but i think the actual shop is located in SF, regular charge per dent was 50-60 i think? it all depends on size...

but yes... i dont see how hard it is.. picking up a phone book, and calling around to check yourself

I've been to a few events where a dent guy came to make extra money, it was on s2ki.com. my advice would be to look out on other forums for "dent days" and go to them, the average price is around 20-30 for each dent

You guys rock bondo on your dents with no paint?

Hope you primer it at least or give it a 5-star rattle can.

lol

Agree with LFOabuse, bondo is able to suck water like a sponge and make the car rust. Try getting the dent suction cuped by a pro. If not, then practice with bondo, sand paper, and primer.

i think its a mis conception about suction cuping out a dent... i think they do that if you have a large area pushed in, but for small door dings they dont use suction cups...

when i had my dents removed, they pushed out the dent the best they could with their metal tools and what not, and had to lightly hammer the body panel around the dent so it doesnt look all distorted.. its kinda like artwork for the people that do it..

body filler isn't supposd to "fill" in a dent. Where do people get this idea? super street magazine DIY section?
