Hey guys,

I tried searching for this, but couldn't come up with anything. I just bought an s14 m/t speed sensor through nissan. Unfortunately, it didn't come with the gear on top of the sensor? (not sure if it's supposed to) Well, my question is, is the s13 speed sensor gear the same as the s14? thanks in advance.

tofu...this is ironic man. I have been troubleshooting the speedo situation for some time and am in need of the exact same speed sensor as you.

I have been looking online and found the S14 MT sensor through the dealership for about $100. Are you saying the OEM sensor doesn't come with the gear? If not, how nonsensical is that especially if you are like me who has a damaged gear in the first place, hence the need for sensor replacement.

I do believe if the number, angle, and depth of the teeth are identical then you can swap over the gear. Keep us posted

i know the sensor is not the same, but are the gears the same?

Just compare the gears man...count the number of teeth, compare the angles at which the teeth are cut, look at the diameter of the gears

Fuck these non reading people.

Gear is the same. How do we know this? The sensors will swap between chassis and the transmission is the exact same. Therefore they have to be the same.

the pinion gear is different between auto and mt...

a new pinion gear and snap ring will run you about $22 shipped
