the vlsd (j30) works good for like 30minutes then turns into an open diff. cant go wrong with welded!
also with the j30 your probably gonna spend more especially if it doesn't have the right half shafts |

he was refering to how the oil in the diff gets beat after it heats up, and how the diff doesn't lock up after that. I posting on my phone so I will answer questions tomorrow.

Put a weld loc'd v4 into my buddy's rb25 s13 the other weekend. The welding looked great & the diff feels excellent compared to my Kaaz. Keep up the good work dude

What is the difference btw the weld locd v3 and v4? Sorry for reviving an old thread but this sounds like a pretty decent route to go without smashing my piggy bank.

The ver. 4 has added metal plating welded in. The ver. 3 only has the welding.
I know there are many ver. 3 diffs pushing around 400 hp with no problem.

tamdo7114: Weare currently out of cores. You would need to send one to us to be modified.
s13_gearhead: www.ewwiwop.com zerogrips13: Great! Let me know how it turns out. pr0ject TRUENO: Of course, but we cannot offer a warranty on a 86 diff though. SilvStylin45s: Turn around time is usually the same day. Recently we have had some delays due to the fact that customers have been sending in diffs with no information included. We have no Idea what they are for or who to return them too. Please make sure to send the diff with no oil, a letter with contact info, what you want done, phone number, and return address. Thanks Luke

Hey I just had a question about your Weld Locd diffs. I've read through almost all of this thread and have seen nothing but positive feedback regarding drifting and racing - what about streetability? I've never seen or heard or driven a weld locd diff, but I have known people that have had their diffs welded before, and they make all kinds of terrible clunking and grinding noises around corners. Tires chirp during low speed turning, etc.
How well do you think one would hold up on a street car / mild autocross machine? Anyone get theirs done by Luke and still drive it on the street on a regular basis? Let me know guys, thanks. |
