i run my 240 on 94 octane! the highest street gas you can put, from sunoco. it says on the gas lid that 92,93 or higher is good if you want better performance. so you can run your car on high octane pump gas. it will not harm your car.

I run mine 90 octane as well, except when I have to pass emmisions <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> or, rather, I suppose when I have to try and pass emmisions.

Just remember that higher octane doesn't mean faster....higher octane is harder to ignite. It is used in turbo vehicles because they run at higher temps and the lower octane will ignite prematurely under higher boost, this is called detonation. On a NA vehicle that isn't highly tuned it will provide little performace value.

I was just saying any octane above what nissan recommends won't give any real performance gain. Sure it will run cleaner but it won't make your 1/4 mile drop by a half second. That's all.

WRONG if an engine was designed to run on high octane, running high octane in it will produce MORE POWER and will BE FASTER. if you don't believe me, read up on European Car's project M3, or C&D had an article not too long ago about it. |

This WILL reduce you power. Run premium, and let the car do what it was designed to do. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() I think 89-90 S13's only req. 87 or 89 up.

In my 90 fastback...if i run anything higher than 90 octane the engine will have really bad acceloration, and will blow out black smoke. I have done it three times and the exact same hing happened each time. I then ran it to emplty and filled up w/ 89 octane, and she purred like a kitten!
