Electrical popping under hood when car is wet...

I washed the car yesterday and after coming out of the wash there was a momentary popping noise (once or twice every 10 seconds or so). I did not spray the engine at all. The hood was closed as I was washing the car.

The popping sounds like a relay turning on-off but much louder. I couldn't quite pinpoint the exact location of the sound.

It pops once when the accessories are turned on. Then when the car is actually cranked it keeps popping... the idle wavers around 700-900... seems to drive fine under throttle. When the car dries it idles at a solid 900 (no issues at all when dry).

Is there any common places on SR's that are water sensitive? What would be the first step in debugging the electrical issue. I'm having a tough time finding out what's causing this.

This is simply speculation and someone might want to back me up but, I hear if you have your plug-cover off of the engine is can cause damage in the rain. If indeed you have the plug-cover on... No Idea.
