SPL Tie Rod Help :)
i recently purchased some tie rod outer from SPL parts and picked up some Z32 tie rod inners from a local autoparts store. (i think they are TSW brand)...anyway im took them to a shop to have them installed and then aligned as i just got my stance coilovers on the car as well(along with Battle Version RUCAS, Toe Arms, and Tension Rods) and ran into a problem. the guy said he couldnt properly align the car with the tie rod inner/outer combo
![]() its the weekend so i couldnt call kuah at SPL so i will wait until monday, so in the meatime im perusing the forums ![]() Matt, thanks in advance i love this place ![]() |

He can't align it probably because you didn't thread the inner into the outer all the way. I had that problem on my car.

http://www.splparts.com/doc/SPLTieRodEnd/ If they had already installed the parts, their mistake is probably trying to adjust toe by turning the buckle. They need to adjust toe the usual method, by turning the inner tie rod. Make sure they follow the torque specs from the instructions, if the shanks are overtorqued it is much more likely for them to snap... |
