'tie rod boots are ripped, im gonna have to change that on both sides, hmm might as well change the tierods then too. plus an alignment.' 'oh, motor mounts need replacing. thats going to be alot on labor' - get what im saying. after all that, offer him $1200. have a friend hold $200 more. if he says no to $1200, say thats all you have. he may bite b/c you have cash on hand. if he says its too low, tell him to name a price. then 'borrow' money from your friend. make him play YOUR game.
