Sorry to bring this back from the dead
But I came across some info today (that might be helpful) when I orderd my SR Oil pump.

I did a search and Im reading that everyone is saying the USDM SR20DE Oil Pump is differnt from the S13 SR20DET Oil pump

But while I was living in Okinawa and shipping my SR home I went to a local OEM part store (Touguchi's)
and got a print out of an IPB for the 180SX SR20DET,
Today I went to the Nissan Dealership and got an IPB Print out for a 92 Sentra SR20DE and compared Part Numbers and the both have the EXACT same Part number #13035 For the Oil Pump/Timing Cover.

SOOO.... Has anyone actually purchased the SR20DE to see if it works?
Sorry if it been coverd I didnt really feel like searching through every single thread. Just tryin to help out...Peace

If you look at the FWD SR20DE front cover and the RWD SR20DET front cover side by side, you will notice that the two top most bolt holes are different (bolt to the head). On the FWD the bolt are accessible from the outside, as for the RWD these bolts are only accessible from inside of the head. Also, on the FWD front cover, one of the bolt hole is in a slightly different location in comparison to the RWD. There are other differences too, but those are the most noticable.

Then why are the part #'s Exactly the same? They already produced the SR20DE in Japan for some vehicals why would the spend more time and money to make it differnt if it already works?

Don't know, I looked at them side by side and that's what I see. Why don't you try it and let us know if they are the same.

Actually, you could just look at the picture of the front cover that mohnissan posted, and pay close attention to the top most portion of the front cover where the cover bolts to the cylinder head. Note that the bolt holes are on the outside of the front cover, now look at your front cover and you will see that these same bolt holes are on the inside.

When I last had a look, I was comparing the GTIR front cover against the S13 Blacktop's. I figured that all the FWD front cover has the same configuration since the FWD guys are using these as upgrades.

Well the Plusar GTIR is like a differnt breed of red tops, internals and externals are completly differnt from regular red tops so that why they appear differnt.
My buddy had one in Oki and we ripped it appart rebuilt it and slapped on a T-67 so I know this first hand
