Are you saying you have a S15 SR in a 95 240sx? The starter should be right below the oil filter if its like the S13 SR. The oil filter is right below the intake manifold/fuel rail/throttle body etc. Which is on the passanger side of a USDM car or on the driver side of a JDM car. Make sure to disconnect the battery unless you want to to keep on making your wrench spark on every turn.

Remove that big brace and throw it away while you're in there.

sounds stupid, but im out of town. Not near my FSM. all i need to do is unplug the battery, correct? Do i need to line anything up with the old starter. or make note of positioning or anything. seems a lil too easy. 3 bolts and two wires, and replace?....any help is appreciated, no need to flame.

i just went thru hell with my starter a few weeks ago. First off. have a friend help you line up your starter so it bolts in straight. I kept getting this stupid little gap everytime i tried it myself.
Secondly, if you have an aftermarket starter your gonna end up grounding out, not be able to start your car and en up pulling your hair out trying to find out what the problem is. http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=155857 that should help |

You do not need anyone's help, set it in the hole, push it tight, and thread the bolts in. Literally 60 seconds.
Some of the reman starters I've seen use the snout off an Altima starter, those will interfere with the IACV hardline and the intake plenum brace. The brace can (and should) be removed and trashed, but if the hardline hits try another seller.
