Ive been watching this community for awhile from the outside, and first, let me say its nice to see some fellow Nissan drivers who know what a quality car is.

Its with my first post in the community that'd I'd like to announce that I have signed a one year production and warranty agreement with a popular Dallas-based import tuning shop(anonymous temporarily for now due to requests by the shop owner) to build and customize the fastest pure Silvia import on U.S. soil that is totally street legal, and daily drivable.

The model will be an imported S'15 from Japan I have already arranged, but will be US converted so I wont have to learn how to shift with my left hand..you get my drift... I plan to make it a show car along with it being an insane monster on the road, but that stage is in the second year of the project.

Custom Leather of Fort Worth will likely take care of the interior delights and customization.

Engine specs have been mapped and documented. Most of the muscle of the engine will be the implementation of the latest dual-ball bearing turbo technology, and heavily customized block, head, piston, and exhaust work to the SR20DET. I'll save the WHP numbers for a later suprise..

Making it the fastest in the US didn't come without a heavy price, but the company, (which Im dying to spit out the name-and will within due time)has worked with me alot on pricing, and has placed their signature on the warranty and production agreement (Which many shops will not do in this country)

Starting in December, Ill begin updating you all on the status of the project, and will let all you fellow Texans know when the coming out party is and where it will be held next year...hehe

Until then, dont worry about one of the fastest Nissan products in the land of the free going to an old man whos gonna garage it. Trust me. I'll be the first one to the street races making all these Tranz Am bastards down here eat Silvia dust.

We'll see. &nbsp;Theres alot of people out there with SR's just sitting at home being built as we speak so I aint holding my breath. &nbsp;Good luck on the project though.

Uhhhh LHD silvia isn't a silvia anymore you know. Plus plz, don't make it happen so that only the show part will be completed and the twin turbo monster will never make it.

PS. you are not the first one to claim that you WOULD have the fastest silvia/240.

I believe this guy can do it, I don't really care for the show part. If I were you and were importing an S15, I would be attacking track racing, but to each his own. Its great to be in on it from the beginning, even though I really don't knwo whats going on. By the time you finish your car, I will be satisfied with my car.

I just want to say concentrate more on the power than show. A good amount of power under the hood is a better show than 10,000 watts of speakers covered in indiglos.

Have fun with your car, and tell us more ASAP (price, HP estimates, tuner name, when you get the S15).

P.S. When you say fastest do you mean 1/4 mile time, or handling, its hard to determine the "FASTEST" car.

Also I still consider it a Silvia even if it is LHD, its like saying if you change your shift knob and steering wheel in your S14, its not an S14. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'>

Uhhh no. Shift knob is a minor modification to whatever car. Major are engine, tranny, body reformation. THat's it. Turbo, body kits itp - minor and don't affect anything. Silvia only cam in japan, and only with RHD. Therefore LHD is not a true silvia. Otherwise all the s14 people with srs in their cars would have silvias.

Thanks for the kind responses everyone. Ill be sure to keep you updated on whats going on with it.

Although I cant say the company name, I will tell you that they have been in Turbo magazine at one time, and I think have made countless appearances-and have won several awards) for their work in the Hot Import Nights shows.

I think the owner has said theyve tuned over 12 various Silvias/240's- 2 I know have been featured in Turbo and another popular racing mag(dont want to completely give it away without having the shop owner's consent)

Im vey confident as to their capability to produce a HIGH HP engine that is both reliable and a consistent and unrivaled screamer both on the quarter mile and track...and yes I did say track... Their custom work is among the best I've seen in my 10+ years of car fanaticism. Although Im new to the Import scene-only 2 years into the fandom, with around 9 years of following domestic tuning, I seriously believe this is the only shop in the South, and especially in Texas, that can this thing the way I want it.

And Tyler, Ill be sure to call you when it arrives. hell I might shoot you a mail so we can meet up and talk racing before then. Right now its hectic hours at the job, so I dont get many opportunities to venture to Dallas and hang with the shop guys going to be responsible for tuning the freak machine. Next time I do go however I'll look you up.


KiDy, dont worry about the speaker overload bro, Im much more into raw power than earlobe busting sound. Plus I've already worked the budget sheet on the car and it doesnt include a $5k stereo system. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Tell you what though..the biggest problem Ive had, believe it or not, has been deciding on which body kit Im going to put on it. Im not going to keep the exterior stock, and Im not going to over modify it either so that it doesnt look like a silvia anymore.

So, Im kinda going for a mean, aggressive, yet somewhat proper and conservative kit (and dont forget light&#33<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> to put on the beast.

Maybe this could be the first thing you guys help me on.....any suggestions?

Huh?? opinions?? Am i missing something here?? Everyone is so sure he can make it, that i'm getting suspicious that i don't know everything. At this point all i heard was that this guy wants to transform a JDM s15 to an USDM s15 and still have it street legal, and make a show car out of it with some kick to make it the fastest one, and he got some tuner shop to help him out. He isn't the first one to say he is gonna do all those 3 things, so i don't really understand everyone being so excited <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hmmm.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hmmm:'> but good luck and it would be neat if you actually make it.

S110 and S12 Silvias were sold in Europe, LHD, so there goes that idea.

This person converted a 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda to RHD so he could drive it on the street in Australia, is it no longer a 'Cuda? &nbsp;In fact they took great care to make sure the interior was perfectly mirror-imaged so the car wouldn't lose any of its individual character. &nbsp;It's as close as you can get to a factory original.

Others have done the same things with Skyline GT-Rs.. a couple in the US, a handful of R33s in the UAE, and one R32 in Finland. &nbsp;Are they no longer GT-R's?

If it quacks like a duck, and left the factory with badges on the back that said "Duck", then it's a DUCK.

lol... LHD conversions are all about ruining the fun. &nbsp;it's like those arab Skylines with the altima LHD dashboards.

I already said on that. Minor stuff makes no difference. Converting to LHD, swapping an engine and tranny from another car is major stuff. Something that takes away the originality of the car. Body kits, turbo kits and other stuff, are basicly addons, not replacements. It's just whenever i hear "true" silvia, that to me is a RHD car, with sr, and licensed as a silvia. All others maybe claimed as silvias, but are actually not

P.S. plus the word silvia started to sound alittle ricey lately.

So what do I have? Aparrently I don't have a 240 cause it has an SR. I deffinatly don't have a silvia since it's LHD.

Is it even a nissan now?? Fook it the car I drive is now called the "Jed".

Kreator - a car is a car, regardless of it bieng LHD or RHD, it is not that big of a difference, it just determines the side that YOU drive on. The car looks exactly the same just a reverse image. Either way he will have a Nissan Silvia S15. If he doesn't then what the heck will he have, you said a USDM S15, but there is no such thing.

To put all the bickering aside call it what you want to call it, but either way it is not your car, or my car, not even his, as of now, but when he gets it he can call it a Civic and you can call it a Supra, but to me it will still be a nice car that I call a Silvia S15.

Ok to get back to the topic now, about the kit, I don't really know mch about S15 body kits, and what they look lie, since I will probably never own an S15, but C-West kits are all wind tested (whatever its called). SO &nbsp;that wouild be good for giving you an extra inch up on everyone. Plus I like all C-West kits.

Than what is a true silvia? What about people that paint their interiors in japan. Does that mean they aren't true silvias anymore. Is the signal auto s15 not a true silvia because they replaced the dash with metal?

I already said on that. Minor stuff makes no difference. Converting to LHD, swapping an engine and tranny from another car is major stuff. Something that takes away the originality of the car. Body kits, turbo kits and other stuff, are basicly addons, not replacements. It's just whenever i hear "true" silvia, that to me is a RHD car, with sr, and licensed as a silvia. All others maybe claimed as silvias, but are actually not

P.S. plus the word silvia started to sound alittle ricey lately.

so since the car came FROM JAPAN(hint hint JAPANESE domestic MARKET).....was bought at a JAPANESE dealer...if it is brought over to the states and converted for the ease of daily driving over here....IT IS STILL A SILVIA!!!!!!!....the car was marketed under that name FROM JAPAN!!!!!....SO "IT" IS A SILVIA if it had come from another country that still has RHD(but not a true silvia) what is it then a 200SX....YES.....but this one was born into the world as a silvia......

Oh, I'll definetely send pics of the car..Prolly when it gets off the trailer and before it even begins modification..


And I really dont get all the Silvia or not talk... The car is a Japanese Silvia 2000 S15 with an SR20DET turbo original.

You mean to tell me because I'm switching the driverside so I wont kill myself that it changes the brand of the car? Gimme a break...

As for driving, Ive been a little spoiled with my VR4 for the past 3 years...But, it's currently beginning to be a complete lemon, so I might be lookin to sell it...And to any looking to buy a car, for gods sake dont get a Mitsubishi....

Kreator.. if its not a Silvia, then what is it??? S15s were never produced in America, so is it a S15 240sx, say some guy converts his Silvia to LHD is it a 240sx? the car is what it came from the factory as, get a grip on reality... If i make my moms buick RHD is it JDM then? People say I argue a lot, I think you've got me beat.. But this guy claims hes gonna import an S15, is all shady about it, no ones heard of him before, and to top that off, its gonna be the fastest one as well. All he seems to do is toot his own hown and spout of generic stuff, not any revelations about how hes doing it. Call me synical, but I don't see this happening, Im not calling him a liar, but that is a tall order.

They have pics of all the body kits. You should find something you'll like.

Personaly, I'd go with the target wide body. Like the signal s15. <- it's actually mine but peeps don't know that. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/inlove.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Or check out the kits that GP sports make. Those are nice.

ok, it doesn't matter what he registers it as. Registration is BS, my dad's friend had a kit cobra, he built it, so what year would you consider that? 2001, the year he built and registered it? Well he got it registed as a 65 AC Cobra, when its not an AC Cobra, its a kit he put together in 2001. Let it die Kreator, you were wrong.
