There's more to VIP than that. The Japanese have been doing it much longer than you think. Just like drifting, it took a while for it to catch on with America. What black people do is "dub."

You are right...there is nothing VIP about Hondas but the large RWD sedans produced by Toyota/Nissan in Japan such as Crowns/Fugas are considered VIP platforms.
