Eibach Prokit question, especially with kyb's - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

I continuously get commentary on my car saying I should lower it, but I've already got the prokit and kyb agx shocks on...I knew it wasn't going to drop a whole lot before, but I wanted to see if anyone else with the kit got this response too...

heres a picture of my car with pro-kits and agx's.  sorry about the shitty quality, if u want some better pics i can do that today or tommorow no problem at all, just let me know.  i think the verdict was that some Pro-kits actually lower the car (like mine) and some don't do anything or even raise the car a little...

Well... also remember that the tires play a big role as well. On my S14, I went with the ST springs and it lowered only 1.3". It lowered it enough to where I'm happy about the ride quality and the isn't an excessive gap. I'd suggest going to a bigger tire. If it's a 17x7.5 go up to a 235/40 17, it'll fill in the well more and be the same ride height as a 195/60/15 stocks.

from what i can see in your pictures it looks like the back is lowered about right but your front looks stock to me based on other S13s i've seen that are 'lowered', even with the rim/tire combo u're running your front should be lower.  i know there is one guy in particular who had big problems with his pro-kits actually raising his car and he went through hell with eibach.  i'm sure he'll put his .02 in here soon  <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

p.s. - on my car it wasn't really so much that it lowered the whole thing... it was more dropping the back slightly and bringing the front down so it looked more level

for one, ur tire are really small as many people have said. ur springs may possibly take soem time to sttle as well.. persoanlyl i thinks it looks really nice an clean.. however it could use a little bt more of a drop and i know what u mean. but ur silver paint also attributes to the lifted look. the prokits have better spring rates.. but the sportline look better. to solve this, you cooulg alwys get some ground control coilovers, and seat them properly with some glue.. they will lower to whereever u want, and they will handle just as well if not better b/c u can tell ground control what spring rate u want. u may be sacrificing a comfortable ride though.. ehh oh well <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

I wasn't happy with the prokits. In general they sometimes lower the car about an inch, but remember that is one inch from the factory ride height. After 12+ years and 130+k miles the factory springs wear so the vehicle is allready sitting an inch lower than factory. I measured my ride height before I replaced my springs and it in fact was an inch lower than factory specs. I now have the sportlines and am very happy with the minimal wheel well gap, although the ride is pretty stiff, wich I don't mind the thing corners twice as well as it used to, but if you want to keep your nice ride beware.
