Hope no one from here was affected by this. My fear of bridges over water has now been reinforced. Many condolences and prayers to the families of this tragedy.

My little brother was walking towards the bridge, and was less than a block away when he saw it collapse.

I can't even imagine what's going through someone's head as their sitting in their car and the bridge just breaks away underneath them.

This thing was all over the news yesterday and last night..
Truly sad to see something like this happen .. What was the cause of the collapse?

From my conversation with him, it went something like..
"I hope I remember everything for my final....wow there's noise, look smoke, fire?That train got crushed, there's a guy in a hard hat running this way, wow, he's got blood all over his legs......."

I was at LA Fitness when it happened - CNN was reporting.

Security Camera caught it.

They're reporting the bridge was "deficient" but still passed inspection in 2005. They also blame heavy traffic. I'm deathly afraid of bridges. A friend of mine took me over the Vincent Thomas bridge between San Pedro and Long Beach, and I passed out from an anxiety attack. That's the s*** that I'm afraid of.

lets just say that traffic is a mess now and will continue to be for a while. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families that are affected by this tragedy. So far the death count is only 4 and it will be a miracle if it doesn't keep rising. The minneapolis skyline has a different look to it now.

It's over 30 now.
I guess my brother has pics on his phone of it happening.
My brother's gf told me that since the bridge was under construction, only 4 of the 8 lanes were open. Imagine if all 8 had been packed.

i just barely saw the video today.. so sad man. you would think they would have completed construction on the entire bridge b4 opening it. someone must have fucked up bad.
