my paint costed me ~700 w/o clear. Thats ppg and my bro who has a shop buying wholesale. A paint job like mine will run 2500 to 3000 depending on the amount of body work. Btw, its pure black with now pearl.

Well, it depends on the quality of the job. Also, there are more than one line of ppg paint just to let you know. Also, layers and clear coat too. What im trying to say is that unless you know the body shop well, its probably low quality comparing to the cost of paint alone. Most importantly, Ive been at the shop for a while and can see the diff. in quality jobs, if you cant tell then it doesnt matter on anything else, anything will be good. Trust me, you need experience to see the diff. in paint jobs.

As I mentioned earlier, the painter and body guy both work at the Nissan port. They work on brand new Nissans and Infinitis that get damaged on the ship, so they're good because the cars have to look new. I've seen the painter's work on his own car, and it's good. He recommended PPG over DuPont because he likes how it goes on better. He knows what he's doing and he's no half-asser.

I'm going back and forth on how much of the interior to paint. He wants to do it all. It's completely stripped except for wiring, under-dash guts/steering wheel, shifter & ebrake handle. But I'm never going to strip it again or make it a racecar. I was thinking just a couple inches into the floor pan and the places where you might pull a corner of the carpet up or something. I'm the perfectionist type though... Argh.
