Just thought this was interesting, it looks like the type of technology that Atari first started as with video games. Now imagine what this technology will be like in 20 years!

Researchers at USC have taken another step towards that holiest of sci-fi dreams: the 3D holographic display. Using a spinning mirror covered with a "holographic diffuser," a special DVI implementation, and a high-speed projector, the team's device can project a three-dimensional image that can be viewed from 360 degrees -- regardless of the viewer's height and distance. That's impressive, but that spinning mirror looks pretty dangerous. Check a video of the system in action after the break.

We had a 3D Holographic game back in the early 90's. It had something to do with cowboys. I know it's not the same thing but I just remembered that.

That's interesting, I'm sure soon they'll be able to incorporate color and many other features to the point where the images will be lifelike.

If you have to revert to the 3D world to get some action, then you've got some serious problems that even 3D can't fix.
