Here's a noob tip for you. Don't add another response post with another comment. just simply edit your first post to include your second comment. Makes reading threads that much easier.

As far as your question goes, it really comes down to howe much money you want to invest. If money is no object then by all means build up the bottom end. Cryo-treat the entire bottom end, port/polish the head, upgrade all your head components to handle higher boost levels (which you will need to make 400 hp with a GT28). Get an ample supply of guages to monitor your investment.Because all it takes is a clogged or failed oil pump and your work is toast.

If money is a factor, then just swap in the SR, get the cooling stuff installed you already mentioned, and TUNE IT PROPERLY. Then just enjoy it until it dies, and get another.
