Lets rant on some bullshit: emo fashion

Emocide:

A gathering of underground metal bands, occurring in the inland empire of Southern California. "Emocide", now a yearly event, began as members of several local metal bands complained about the popularity of the Emo style, pathetic attitudes of most anything emo, the somewhat unfriendliness of venues, and unfairness of society in general, toward people who prefer music of the deathmetal, grindcore and blackmetal variety. Disgruntled band members decided to throw a party, made a flyer and invited all their friends to join them. On a whim they decided to call the event "Emocide", somewhat in agreement with the term "emocide", i.e.: death to anything "emo", would be something to celebrate. Since that first gathering the event has become synonomous, (at least in the local underground metal community) with a yearly gathering of the area's most extreme underground metal bands, along with family, friends and fans, getting together once a year to appreciate underground metal, moshing & discussing ways to support and promote the music they love, the old school way - DIY style, in the vain of the metal militia street teams supporting and promoting an underground metal garage band, who called themselves Metallica.

I hate following a cool trend or fashion. I'd much rather do my own thing. I don't judge anyone, but those kids think they are being individuals by dressing like that and listening to that music, psssh.

"Scene kids", as I/we call the ones who dress emo but come to the metal shows... I think they try to trick people into thinking they are metal. But when EVERYONE is wearing the same pair of pants that the one girl in the back is wearing... gruff. And the damn bandannas around the neck/face/head like they're trying to be gangsta. And the hair, yes. And the hoodies that are waywayway too small(I like small hoodies, and these people's are WAYYYY too small).

They come to the shows and dance. They dance together in-sync... that's not fucking metal. Coming to a show to dance and not even know what the fuck the band is playing. But there are some forms of "hardcore dancing" that are fun to do when the time is right. And circle pits.

This is at a reunion show... a badass local band... and the little fuckers wouldn't shut the fuck up. Robby(the singer) is pouring his guts out(about being molested as a child) and they kept going. He said something before the filming started about their "hair being fine"... it may have been in the vid, don't remember. He says some shit to 'em just a little into it.
If you watch into the music part -- it was really loud and the mic on the camera couldn't keep up. This makes me all warm and fuzzy inside...

I don't wear baggy jinco rave jeans or jeans that are ten sizes to big, but now its almost like it is cool to wear pants that looks like they are spandex, I just don't get why a guy would want to wear a pair of jeans that he has to zip up with a pair of pliers.
I used to have longer hair, 3 years ago before i moved to so cal, and once I caught a hint of the gayness in it that would soon spread and become scene I cut that shit, I mean I think if that is how you feel, than wear it but I think you should understand the awkward looks you get being an emo kid cause your going out of your way to get attention by dressing like a girl.
I think the closest thing to wearing make up and being cool would have to be motley crue. but whatever floats your boat.

Style and fashion trends are retarded right now. The plight of finding the right jeans does not only affect guys. There are normal girls that don't like low-rise, tight ass shit. I JUST found pants that fit normally at Old Navy. I like pants to sit where they're supposed to.

Emo look is too much for me. I don't like the fact that guys wear pants that are smaller sizes than what I wear. It gives me a complex. I can't find normal clothes anymore. Everything is made to fit way too tight. They make clothes for fetuses and anorexic emo tweens.

And screw you Edgar, I go to Marshall's and TJMaxx. I'm not spending 100 bucks on one outfit at the mall when I can go there and get a decent amount of clothes for the same price.

The only problem I have with it is that I have trouble finding clothes that I like because this emo fad is so in that clothes manufacturers jump on the bandwagon and they won't make anything else. They also will make the clothes smaller to fit the fad, making it even more difficult. I don't know if this is the case with guys' clothes, but it runs rampant in girls' clothes. I've come to the point of actually considering buying guys' clothes just so I can be comfortable.
