Cylinders 1 & 2 look fine as far as I can tell. Plugs from the rear 2 cylinders are as white as can be.

Unless my memory is way off, that's detonation...but why would the 2 rear plugs be so different from the front 2?

White plugs is usually running lean. Post up pics. On an older motor with a stock setup and only a few cylinders are running lean, id guess dirty/clogged injectors.

OK, I'll try to get some pics when I get home. It's a 97/98 blacktop S13, so it's a little newer than most.

I'll also mention that I've been having a mid-range bog, right around 3, 3.5K. It feels like it's holding back, then I shift and it backfires (so I figured it was running rich). Yesterday I changed the plugs, put in a new Z32 fuel filter, new water temp sensor, new fuel pump o-ring (because there wasn't one

) and hopefully my new O2 sensor will be in today at the parts store. Haven't driven it yet but I'm hoping it'll be fixed...

If not, should probably pull my injectors and check? I'll also:

-Check fuel pressure; I have a Walbro and a stock regulator, maybe it's going out
-Swap for another MAF and see if that helps
-Check timing
-Check for boost leaks; already did, but I'll check again

Also, would there be any reason to think I could just get some good fuel system cleaner, pour it in the tank and go easy on the car for the next couple hundred miles while it cleans things out?

Eh? Would that help for dirty/clogged injectors? I would guess so but maybe I'd need to do a little more work than that...

Sorry you can't see much detail.

Plugs 1, 2, 3 and 4, from left to right. You can see how 1 and 2 look fine, 3 and 4 are whiter (3 in particular).

Would it help to just use some injector cleaner, like Chevron Techron (I read in another thread that it's probably the safest as far as fuel cleaners go). Somebody tell me something here

Thats way too hard to tell, they all look the same. I suppose you can try the injector cleaner and see if they all burn even then.

If the injectors are clogged, is there much else I could do besides use some injector cleaner? Maybe pull them from the rail and use...something to clean them out? *shrug*

Stock. It's basically a stock S13 blacktop swap.

they look fine. If you were to lean you may have small blisters on the plugs and find tiny specs of aluminum. If you decide to run a fuel cleaner, you may find that the plugs turn a orange or red color. This is from the additive and will not harm anything
