Just hooked my homemade catch can up..is it flowing right?

OKay I made one a catch can out of those air compressor filters by campbell. You know the lil plasitc canister with the two threaded ports on each side to screw the hose barbs into. Well the filter has an arrow on the top to show in what direction it flows. Basically I got flow of direction going from the valve cover 90 degree barb to the intake tube barb. My car is N/A...so is this set up correct. Or should the flow of direction be from the intake tube to the valve cover, meaning I need to turn the filter so the arrow points in that direction?

Thanks for any help...btw I noticed a decent amount of oil in the old hose and around both barbs..valve cover and intake tube.

flow is toward the intake, blow-by comes out of the valve cover where it is further pulled along by the vaccum of the engine and reburned. got any pics?

Actually, the valve cover fitting (on a KA) flows inward and outward depending on the engine load, vacumm and throttle.
At idle, the valve cover sucks fresh air and its expelled via the PCV valve.
At high throttle, the PCV vave closes and blowby is sucked via the throttle.

So, which way is the correct one? Well, depends on your application.Lets say that its on a NA KA so the real benefit of that particular separator will be done on the PCV circuit and put a small breather on the VC fitting.
If you plan to turbo, then cap the PCV rail, put a catch can and the VC line should go on the turbo intake.

At least, IMO I think that will work better that way...please, chime in your opinions!!

NO pics, but I got it hooked up like redtop said, and there's oil film in the container already. I just hooked it up today. I didn't really have alot of options on runing the hoses due to alternator and rad belts and throttle cable. But I managed to let it sit down between the battery and rad hoses. I wonder how long it will take before I have a small puddle lol. I mean when I took the old breather hose off, drops of oil literally ran out. No telling how long that built up.

At first I was thinking my car felt slower with the catch, then it felt slightly faster, but I think its all in my head lol. Tach stayed steady at idle like norm, and exhaust is still clear. So so far so good. So long as my motor is running slightly cleaner I'm happy.

Hey there anyway I can harm my motor by having a catch can hooked up between the intake tube and the valve cover. I mean according to the arrow on the compressor filter I used as a catch, the flow of things should go from the valve cover to the intake. I was trying to ask a friend of mine about his catch can on his civic, but he questioned why I needed a catch can and said I should just put a breather filter on the valve cover and yada yada Basically no help there, but not suprised.

All I was trying to find out if it was mroe harm than good. I read with a breather filter eventually oil and stuff seeps out on the motor. Right now I hooked things back up the way they were before the can to see if the catch can was hindering performance. If theres no difference, I'm putting it all back on and waiting for a response from you guys.

Thanks
