there are a couple guys using t04's.. which is bigger than a t3/t4..
from what I know, a t-60 really isn't a good street turbo.. it would spool till way high up in the RPM band, and would hit like a hammer. Good for Drag applications. thats why no-one here uses them... besides, whats the point? a to4e is good for about 450hp.. not many people with 240's are willing to build the motor to handle more than that..

Yeah t-60 will hit you somewhere around 4700-5000 rpm iirc. t3/t4 - around 3200. t04 - dunnow. All that is with ball bearings. Finally if you want a daily driver turbo (eg not running crazy boost) you might think about t3s. w/o the bb (and thats $500 saved) you'll hit full spool up ~3000rpm. And i'm predicting it's gonna be faster than t3/t4 cuz of that at low psi.

well for crazy hp you better have money. no matter what you have done to the motor, things still break. forged pistons and rods have a limit also. must remeber that drag racing motors are usually stripped once a season for a rebuild. 350hp is more than enough for you for the street. over that, no matter how streetable you think it can be, it isnt. trust me i know.

That's what nitrous is for <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> |

the t3/t04 is an awsome turbo, thats why everyone uses it... a member of my club has a 2001 civic si with a stock ls motor and built transmission. running the t3/t04 at (60trim i think) he is putting 277 whp down and about 245 ft./lbs. he's running at 12psi and has plenty of room to build up. the car looses traction in 5th with full street trim on drag radials... this summer we plan to build a new motor and break 350 whp. for the KA motor you can expect the same type of results... the t3/t04 is just a great street turbo. just tune everything correctly!!!

we have a civic here with a b18c in it and a T-68 turbo, and he is pushing 528 to the front wheels, i just thougth if an engine that small could handle that then why couldnt mine handle a t-60 very well?

As was said above, it's not that you can't do it, but would you really want to? You said yourself that a very laggy turbo isn't appealing to you and that's what you would be getting. That's still a pretty big turbo on a street supra. If you just want a dyno queen then run one, but if you want a fast revving, smooth powerband, stick to something a bit more realistic.

It's gonna handle it. Except you'll only be able to use it for very short period of time on the KA. The bigger the turbo, the smaller the range it can provide boost. Side notes: T3 - OEM kinda turbo. Will build boost right away. The feeling as if you car has a bigger engine. Good for up to 14 psi (~350rwhp?) T3/T4 - More sporty. Higher boost levels (up to 22psi? and whatever hp that is). Will be "kicking in" kinda t60 - a big ass turbo. will kick in high, but will pull you like a mofo. Whatever you want <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() |

Not practical for the street, but good for the drag. Basicly what you would do is use nitrous to get to high rpms in first gear fast and then stay in 5-6000 rpm range in other gears to not let the turbo loose it's rev speed. |
