Rear S15 Crossmember vs. S13 Crossmember

Hello guys,

it seems to be common to swap the original rear S13 subframe and install an S15 one in Japan.

Which are the benefits of the S15 crossmember over the S13 and why shops in Japan do this ?

My opinion is if you put the parts stated below on each subframe, both will perform nearly identical, or am i wrong ?

- Kazama Upper (Camber) and Toe Control Arms Kit
- Kazama Rear Traction Rods S13
- Good Sway Bars
- Aluminium Subframe Bushings
- Polyurethan bushings for knuckles

Looking forward for replys.

Greets

you might want to edit that so it says rear subframe, because that's what it's called, not a cross member.

wider track(sticks out an extra 10mm's) and the way it sits(suspension geometry) and what chmercer said are what/why people do the swap...

internet 9th hand also says it allows you to lower the rear even more, especially with large wheels (18's and larger)

Sub-Frame swaps are actually fun... you will learn everything on the first time.

S13 is smaller - S14/15 are larger by about (10mm) - S15 has additional strucural supports.

Peace

I also think is because the S15 has more anti-squat. mounting points on the subframe are like 1-2inches lower on the LCA. Helps control fishtailing coming around corners.

It has less anti-squat.
It has a better toe curve than S14
Its 10mm wider
the arms are reinforced

If someone could get me Yanack stuff and people didn't charge rediculous amounts of money for S15 stuff just because its off an S15 I'd have one by now.

So I guess if we have an S14, we can make better with an S15 subframe too.
