i have a vlsd, but i want an opendiff so i can get it welded.

my friends giving me his open diff for free, but it doesn't have output shafts.

can i use the jdm 5bolt vlsd output shafts and put them in the open diff??

if not, why? im sure i can go find some 2x2x2 output shafts but i already have 5bolt axles in my car, so putting 5bolt output shafts would make this swap easier.

Weld the vlsd since its prolly toast by now...

Just find the 3x2bolt axles, sell the VLSD to someone else that wants it, and be content.

Viscous output shafts are shorter then the open diff output shafts. Why? Go ask nissan.
