I've done this but just haven't hooked up the power yet.

Basically you need to swap the bases with the top portion of the mirror. You have to use the US base with the JDM top. Keep the US glass because the JDM glass is wide angle or something. It gave me a headache to look through. But I guess thats up to you.

You have to remove the 3 bottom screws to seperate the base with the top. You also have to take the wires out of the connector. I chose not to cut any wires but if you don't care, cutting them is much easier.

Once you get the base seperated, you'll have to remove the metal inserts in each one (3 screws I think). There is a tab on either the motor or the metal insert and a hole on the other part for the tab to lock into. They are now in the wrong place. You can either file down the tab or drill a new hole for the tab to fit into. I chose to drill because the tab helps the mirror pivot.
I didn't keep track of what I did at the time so this is by memory and might not be too clear.
It only took one night but was kind of a PITA for what it added. Anyways, if you get stuck or need any more specific questions, just ask or email me and I'll try to help.
Mine turned out pretty good, just need to be painted to match the car.
