The T at the end of SR20DET stands for Turbo. As the D stands for Double Over Head Cam. The E, i believe stand for Electronic Fuel Injection.

the Nissan naming convention goes like this:

SR20DET:
SR = engine family name
20 = 2.0 Liter
D = Dual overhead cam
E = Electronic fuel injection
T = Turbocharged

thus KA24DE equals:
KA = engine family name
24 = 2.4 Liter
D = Dual overhead cam
E = Electronic fuel injection

that my friend is totally wrong

SR20 is just a way of talking about the engine withOUT having to type SR20DET or SR20DE all the time

SR20 does not mean no turbo

SR20DE = no turbo
SR20DET = turbo

People just need to be more open minded and use the search button, and read posts for a while before you start posting your own.

When you hear sr20 be thinking about sr20det (with the turbo). Atleast on this web-site.

s13 and s14 SR20DET use T-25 garett turbo
S-15 SR20DET uses T-28 garett turbo
SR20DE is the nonturbocharged version of the motor

and the s15 wheels have some kinda of conical design that makes em craploads better than an s14-T28.

Edit: Just remembered the S15 also comes with a wastgate seperator that's placed between the wastegate outlet and the turbine wheel. Supposidly it drasticly improves flow.

I dont usually flame people but come on.. USE SEARCH.. Not even on this site, go to google.com and search for SR20DET, then you can find out about the motor. I think most people that are into 240s pretty much have a common knowledge that SR20DET motors come with a turbo.. duh. If you are just jumping on the 240 bandwagon because you see them in turbo magazine and rice tuner then please go back to your rice mobile. kthxbye

Should I pull out of the deal and get an S15 turbo???

Dammit Eric, I told you

The S15 turbo is significantly diffrent than the s14. It's been said (rumor) that it's an exact copy of the HKS GT2510 although I can't deny nor approve this.

I know you can run the s15 turbo on 370's to about 16psi with no problems. I've seen it done and it produced around 270hp

I'd say look around for an s15. If you can't find a great deal grab the s14T28. Either way your gonna be set.

Jed

Fuck it. I like this one. I already have some of the parts (inlet and outlet pieces).

The S14 turbo is *not* my final turbo anyway. Just something fun for now. Later on I'll get something bigger (read: GT2835 or similar).

This will work for now. And for how clean it is...and for the parts with it...and for the layaway plan...$525 is a good deal for me.

I wish some one would let me put an s15 front on layaway

Either way you'll see more gains on that s14 turbo than the s14 motor sees on it.

Yeah, dude...$75 a month until May (7 months). Works perfectly for both of us. He doesn't need the money right away, and I don't need the turbo right away. So this is easy!

Life should be more like this all the time. Maybe I wouldn't be so broke!
