^What he said. My understanding of why the alarm goes off: When you turn on the car, the starter takes all the juice from your already dead battery, taking power away from the alarm. Then when you let off the starter, the battery will still have enough power to power the alarm, therefore, it resets the alarm and goes off. It's like when you reconnect or install your battery, the alarm will go off as soon as you connect both positive and negative.
