connectors to popups and emergency lights
how the hell do you remove the connectors behind those buttons?? the popups and emergency buttons??
i know u usually have to press in the plastic and its out and this is by far the dumbest question but i am learning and i dont want to break anything ![]() |

pull on button to pull it out of the thing. and then there is a piece you push in on to release a "latch" and then it pull straight out. You do not need to remove the guage cluster or anything to get them loose.

These connectors are very annoying. The hazard switch, the cruise control button, the popup retractor switch, the rear defrost switch, the dimmer switch, the rear wiper/washer switch.
All of them have a little connector in the back that's held on by a button. You push the button in and the connector slides out. It's really annoying but I don't recommend using a screwdriver because you can damage the connector or wires. Some of them have a button on each side so you have to squeeze both button simultaneously while trying to pull the connector out. It's quite painful if you're not careful. You can carefully pop the switch out and then push the button to disconnect the harness, but the safest way would be to lower the steering column, remove the gauge cluster bezel, and go at them from the back so you don't damage the bezel or the switches themselves. |
