wierd problem? im stumped..
ok i was putting the car into my drive way, and letting the car warm up.. i see a little white smoke , i think nuthing of it maybe condensation.. also i hear a wierd noise. like a hi pitched squeal, kinda like a blet squeel but more hi pitched and sounded motor wise.. as i reved the car it got louder and and sound like it was moving faster..
by now the car was up to operating temp. and the white smoke was still apparent.. so i pull the car in and decided to check the plugs. lose the tension form spark plug #1 and oil comes spraying out the spark plug hole.. WTF? the rest of the cyld were fine, clyd 1 had oil in it.. but i say no blue smoke form the exhaust.. did a comp test. i got 180 across all 4. the only thing that was not normal was that my wastegate is going so i was driving on the hi way the other night and my boost spiked to 15psi, i had good fuel tho, i was still 11.7:1 on the wide band.. now the part that stumps me i put the plug back it, start the car up and the noise and smoke is gone!. the compression is still 180 across all 4. and the car sounds healthy , idles fine... my setup is a ka-t t4. on 8psi. ka has 113k on it.. any clue on what when on?

yea it shot up hit my hood and fell back down around my passanger shock tower..
i mean i can understand if cyld 1 was on top of compression stroke and losing out the plug relived the cyld. pressure causing the oil to shoot out.. but how did that much oil get in there.. it was like 1.5 cap fulls.

my .02
Oil could have leaked from the spark plug location to valve cover circular seal area. the spark plug location acts as a reservoir if the seal is bad and when the cylinder is at tdc (under pressure) while removing th spark plug, the oil would have sprayed all over... ![]() |

i didnt check it, but the problem never happend again, but i did change the rubber gasket like less then 7k ago..
i was thinkin i blew the ring lands but i hold compression perfectly.. so its reallly wired.. and where did the noise and white smoke come form? and why did the oil burn out while the car was idleing for like 10 m before i pulled the plugs.. didnt stumble or nuthing..

a few more situations that could have caused your simptoms resolve 1. seal could have been installed wrong (accidents happen) 2. ring lands generally do not just blow out very easy. it may be possible 3. noise may have come from a number of things. Im thinking anything that rotates other than any internal engine part. Alt, idler pullys, p.s. pump, ac clutch, fan clutch and ... 4. white smoke usually means water in the combustion chamber when exhaust condensation is ruled out. 5. as far as oil burn out, be sure the oil was in the cylinder. check the spark plug location before removing it. if you see oil, this will confirm if oil is coming from the valve cover circular gasket location. If no oil is present, proceed to pulling the spark plug and view the tip. if the tip is wet, it may be from bad valve seals and or guides, piston ring gaps just happened to line up increasing blowby. Rings do not seem to be a factor since compression was good in all cylinders..
