180SX Kouki Postion lights

Is there a way to wire this up and have them work the same way the usdm turn signal work.

Right now I have them connected using two of the wires from the original harness. They do light up when I turn the light switch but when I signal a turn they start blinking really fast.

Is there a way to make them blink normal?

mmmm i dunno... i mean ur having to splice intot he stock harness is why...they only way i could see is if u get and actual 180sx type X light harness...though my in experience with electronics tells me it highly unlikely ud have to go to such extremes

They work and light fine the only problem that Im having is that they blink like so fast when I signal a turn.

I just want to know if theres a way to wire them so that they wont blink like fast and just blink normal. I want them to light up when I turn the light switch on and blink normal when I signal a turn. Is there a way to get them to do that.

It's a dual prong connector, correct? You'd have to use a dual filament bulb with a three prong connector, parking, signal, and ground.

I have those two items together right know. But they only have two wires and the old harness had three wires. I hooked up the parking (illunination) wire and the signal wire to the ones below.

Your making it harder than it is.I just did this on my kouki Bumper... but My Project I did something diff.
The front bumper Turn signal harness has 3 wires ; 1 blk 1 red and 1 green.Green wire is what makes the light Blink. so w/ that your working on -you want it to blink????...It should just light up w/ 1 click of the Headlight stalk would be "factory".Bottom lights would be blinker but You'll need to use the green wires and maybe get a dual Filament bulb.

Use the Bumper sidemarker light harness and Splice into it (run wires)and the 2 wires will allow that to do So ^ once you run them to the Square position Lights w/ the harness' and Bulb sockets.
--------------------------------------------------------------
The Blinker Bottom lights is where it get s tricky.that light is not supposed to be on -- ONLY when the blinker is on.....now thats how it is in Japan...you can however do what you want for them.....You have to use the OEM front bumper harness where the old Chuki Lights were and use the Green wire from the harness and 1 other one..can't remeber which one.But thats not what your working on in question.

Now...The front bumper/fender sidemarker I made Turn on and light up as well as blink w/ the front blinker lights. That was hard as hell.Your own your own there cuz I couldn't walk youn though that,Otherwise those sidemarker lights will only light up or NOT @ all.Very dangerous when trying to change lanes.

Im only using the small square bumper lights. But i want to run those like blinkers too not only as running lights.

They do come on and light up good but getting them to blink right and not so rapily is what Im trying to do.

I guess its because they use a smaller bulb than the usdm turn signals.

I have the exact same problem and was also interested in finding out a solution.
Its annoying to have the blinkers go on so rapidly.

so ur tryin to use the bulb as a running light and a turn signal light...

then dont u need to run 2 bulbs...one for runnign one for signaling...

You can't read. The US lamp is a dual filament, 8W for parking, 27W for signal. You have to have both leads, plus a ground, connected for both functions to work. Three wires total.

Sorry to bring back a thread waaay back from the dead, but I think this info is very useful and important since theres not that many info on it. For the bottom turn signals what two wires do you splice up to the harness? The green and red or the black one?

Also for the position light do you just splice one wire? the black or red to it? How do you divide the 3 wires to the position light or turn signal light.

your question has already been answered. no need to bring back graveyard threads. READ. Or better yet, go OUTSIDE and TEST IT YOURSELF. Theres only 3 wires.

I read it, I don't think you did... Since you have the time to comment than answer the question what goes with the green wire for the turn signals.

three ways to do it. .
1.powered by max has a relay you could run $30
2. run the wires from the positioning light (which are two) to the three from the harness run red wire to red and black wire to green. . this will make it blink fast but will allow for both blinker and positioning light to work (temp fix) ( only catch is that you have to have positioning lights on to have both functioning).
3. use you stock bulb/harness with blinker and positioning light . . and cur the back of the positioning light to allow the socket to fit. seal with some sort of gasket sealer and if you ever need to change your bulb. . break the gasket. .

there are three ways. Hope it helps . . i'd recommend buying pbm harness

soooooo is it really that hard to go out there with a volt meter and sort it out yourself?
took me less than half an hour to wire mine up, using the oem bulbs, so that i have turn signals AND the other filament turns on with the headlights as a running light.

for the turn signals on the 96-98 180sx front bumper
the wire you are looking for if you cut the original 1157 socket is green with a yellow stripe and use the black wire for ground done

for the position lights you will use the wire that is all green and that will go to the red wire on the position socket and for the black wire use the same ground as the turn signal

Thanks a lot I just did the turn sigmals and spliced the green and black to the pigtail.

Now I dont know how to splice the pigtail I got from enjuku for the position lights to the. Green and black wire that the turn signals are using. Or are you saying use the red wire and the same black ground wire that the turn signals are using for the position lights?
