Exclamation serious clutch problems help!!!

i got a 91 240sx and ive had to get the clutch worked on 3 times in the past 3 months. i blew it out once. then got a OE replacement. it went out again. got it fixed. then just last night. it went out for the third time. it doesnt go out all at once. it just seems to lose pressure and theres no resistance in the clutch until like the last inch before the floor board. i wasnt driving it hard when it went out. just started to go, and had to drive home in 3rd gear. ive heard its the slave cylinder or something like that.
very broke right now. so any ideas on fixes is appreciated.

Have you been doing all of the work yourself or taken it to a shop? I would look at the master/slave cylinders. Make sure you adjust the clutch pedal!

That definitely sounds like the clutch master &/or slave cylinder. My pedal started doing odd things like that on and off for about a week, then it all of a sudden stuck to the floor. I would occasionally be able to pull it up again w/ my foot, then it wouldn't stay up. It turned out to be my clutch master cylinder.

Good luck!!

I would suggest getting a slave/master clyinder rebuild kit. It only costs a few bucks and isn't all that difficult to do. Just make sure you clean your whole cluch system out before you put in the new parts and fluid. Bleed the system well.
Good luck,
Jim

I had the same problem but I found that my problem was a little metal bracket, that connects to the clutch, that was broken. It cost me 11 bucks to get the part at a Nissan dealer nearby. It wouldn't hurt to check behind the pedal to see if that's your problem too. Good luck.

Another thing to keep an eye on is the pressure on the line.. If it gets hot and builds pressure, it can get sloppy again. It's a problem that's been haunting me with my U.S. 240. I've replaced the line, the M/S cylinders and it still comes around. One other item to take a look at it is removing the air box from the system and driectly connecting the line from the M cylinder the to slave. That will keep pressure there as well.

Does anyone know exactly how much the rebuild kit is? and where it can be purchased?
