mroe cooling problems

i just got done changing the thermostat, and my gauge isnt pegged on hot anymore, but whenever im at an idle or just cruising at 30mph or slower, the temp rises slowly till its close to hot. I bled the air pressure out, and i know i have a bad radiator cap, could the cap be it? i pressure tested the system and its working fine. any ideas?

Eliminate all options when it comes to part replacement. Cooling system is not something you want to skimp on... More than likely it IS your bad cap.

How many miles do you have on the engine? Have you had a system flush done on it lately?
Check your upper and lower hoses also, cause if these are old and have some clogging in them then they will definitely cause you to heat up.

try replacing the thermostat again, i had the same problem, i replaced the thermy first, hoses and eventually the radiator, on a hunch, i decided to check the thermostat again, and sure enough it was stuck
