That's my whole point. I wanted to ask to see if anyone knew anything and had any advice. I am opening it back up tomorrow and I will be definitely going over things to check. It has been two weeks since I had things open. There has been only minimal driving, so I should see a little something, hopefully nothing at all. Well, if anyone does know whether or not the bearings inside and or attached to the transmission core should be packed, please let me know.

If the bearing is on the inner side of the oil seal, i don't think there is a need to pack it. It should be coated in gear oil when the tranny is filled.

As I was right, it was the input shaft seal or I should say, lack there of. When I pulled it, all that was left was the metal casing for the seal. That's all that was left. I also pulled it and resealed everything. So far.. no drips.. I hope it stays that way too..

I know this is old and I revived it, but this is the closest topic I could find to my question.
I am assuming that you do not need to pack the diff bearings, however my neighbor with his STi says that they are supposed to be packed and then put in gear oil...sounds weird to me though. Do you need to do both or just put it together and put gear oil in it only? I searched, but nothing answered my question so thanks in advance for any help.
