s15 conversion opinions...

So Im just about tired of looking at my 95 jdm zenki k's and want to do a s15 conversion. I basically have all this summer to do one, but Im pretty limited on tools and have no clue how much time and money this'll cost. I have a sawzall, drills, and pretty much everything to get the job done...so I think

Besides cutting the radiator mount(which I hear is the worst of the conversion), what other problems should I look forward to? I know they make conversion hoods, fenders, and bumpers... but do they help? And wiring the headlights... Any ideas? Any special tools I need? Problems? Anything will help...

well I figure that it would cost just about the same to go out and buy a new body kit... minus the backbreaking labor and time... I forgot to mention I clipped a parking post and my front bumper needs repainted/realigned.

With the money you'd spend on an S15 conversion, you could make your S14 body look so nice. For real. If you do the conversion you're going to want a body kit for it anyway (a plain stock S15 front on a stock S14 body will look....plain), so there you're looking at even more money.

if i could do it all over again.... HELL NO. especially if its your daily. i was in the same situation. too much money if done right (quality kit and paint). you could spend it better elsewhere. now if you dont mine shelling out the $$$$$$ then go for it. be prepared for cracks/damage. especially if you track/have "fun" with the car. if you dont mind ANY of that, then go for it i guess.

if you're going to go through with it, just get all the parts (quality) and you're fine. the only thing you'll have to do is cut out holes on your radiator support to allow the headlights to fit properly. and have access to the bulbs. its pretty basic.

^^ what he said. I am just about done with mine. Everything so far fits perfectly, I just need to get my hood. Its in the shipping process now. Then squirt on some paint, and good to go!! I am going with the s15 front to "modernize" the look of the front, Flare the rears to do the same/allow for a wider wheel/tire w/out tons of camber or caster. (i like even tire wear) And so i can have the tire flush with the outside of the wheel. (dont care for the tire pulled out to seat on wheel look) I want something that looks clean and modern. (ladies like that better and so do I)

This is the 23rd oldest topic on Zilvia. Please do some research on the cost and determine if it's in your budget. You'll also find COUNTLESS threads on here about what is needed to do the swap the right or wrong way.
