According to this months Import Tuner the loop hole is rule 8.11.13 or something that allow cars designed for RWD or AWD from factory. According to them in japan theres an AWD TC. My issue is that the reason why RWD or AWD based cars is to make it more competitive for grass roots and privateers, because if they could just take a fwd car and put any ole' rwd engine in it at that point your really just making your own car and is really unfair to teams without deep pockets

I dont see any unfair advantage they would gain over the grassroots guys that the big money teams already running crazy setups based off RWD platforms dont already have.... Just look at Rhys's car, I really dont see how a converted FWD car would have any advantage that thing doesnt already... seems to me this is just another expensive way to be unique and its really not going to matter especialy in drift racing.

my 2cents

There's no denying the fact that they've essentially created their own car. That said, IMO it's not that big of a deal because they also have to develop the performance from scratch.
