Why don't people get it? It is not in their control at all. There are SO many different factors that affect the prices of gas that you and I don't even think about or even considered had a connection to gas prices. For one, our economy plays the biggest factor in the gas prices. The US dollar has been getting weaker over the years, and in the past few months, it has been plummeting. So in our perspective, foreign currencies are soaring. Because other country's currencies are worth more, they are able to purchase more oil at the same dollar value (in the market, oil is valued in dollars). And they do just that. Considering the FDIC is preparing for numerous bank closings in the next few years... i dont know what to say other than we are just hurting ourselves if we boycott any oil company. If you havn't noticed, almost all of them are pushing a ton of research into alternative energy sources in the past few years. Why? because we have to, and our race would be pretty fucked if we stick to oil. Sure, i wish gas prices were a little less, but theres a bigger picture behind it all.
